Sunflower Family Restaurant in Charlotte

Excellent food outstanding waitresses and everybody was awesome. I highly recommend the sunflower family restaurant. It's a five star restaurant in my book.

Some of the best yellow grits you'll ever get in Charlotte! Haven't had anything that wasn't good. My all time favorite is the French choice. Also the grilled chicken and fried chicken plates are amazing. Food is always fresh, hot and cooked to order! The staff is friendly, especially the husband and wife owner!!! They make you feel like family!

Great restaurant, great food, and even better customer service. This restaurant feel like you’re at home, eating a great home cooked meal. The server named Brittney was AMAZING.

Always amazing food. I got the mushroom burger and it was loaded and extremely fresh. The fries are perfect. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak and he demolished it. Also the wait staff is always so sweet.Update: this is the BBQ burger. This thing is loafed and soooo good

This place is great. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is magnificent. The flounder is reeally so good. And the huge pancakes are delicious. Be ready to wait but it is worth it.

I always love this place, every one there is friendly, the owners are very much involved with this establishment which makes it a great experience every time. Anyone of the staff will gladly wait on you. Great family feel, and food is great tasting and prices are definitely reasonable.

Breakfast was awesome. Ordered yellow grits, salmon patties, cheese eggs and toast. Our waitress Tiffany was wonderfully attentive. First timer stolen from Dino's for life.

Food and service is always great

Recently, the owner was asked if they would like to support a local middle school with fundraising. For every dollar the patron would receive a bar of chocolate. This money would be used to help off-set the cost for their trip to Senegal West Africa. The owner stated he would rather help “Greek” kids and schools. Mind you this establishment profits off of the black dollar. I highly suggest you spend your money where it will be appreciated. He could have just said no if he did not wish to support the very school that is near this restaurant. Please don’t go here!!! There are PLENTY OF BLACK OWNED establishments who would appreciate you more.

Breakfast at it's finest. The menu options are great, food is great and and staff is great! A gem in our community. Eat-in or carry-out.

Very nice country kitchen. Good food and big portions. I had the country fried chicken with Mac and cheese and onion rings. Even their cornbread is tasty.

A 5 star because everything is perfectly cooked and delicious with perfect service. But honestly there is never a place to park. Best chicken alfredo I've ever had compared to olive garden and open kitchen and other restaurants that specialize in pasta.

Easily one of the best breakfasts in the Charlotte area. Family owned and operated, great prices, big portions, and delicious food. Amazing grits, great coffee. Breakfast is served all day, and service is excellent. Attentive but not obtrusive. Can’t recommend it enough.

Sue was excellent. I haven't tasted better sausage links anywhere else. I'll be back every Tuesday. Eggs cooked to perfection. Liver mush crisp. Everything was great. This is what good service looks like.

The service and food are phenomenal! Generous servings, all the food that I've tried is excellent. The Greek Pork Cake is absolutely delicious. One of the few times that trying something new ended up tasting that good. The wait staff are super friendly, very attentive and provide great service. Due to how great the food is they are always busy, but even though the place may be packed, they get you seated quicker than what you will expect. Park behind the restaurant, as the front is small and crowded. They close at 2pm so keep that in mind, though you can order ahead for takeout. All in all,one of Charlotte's best kept food secrets.

I love this place. We use to go to Texas Ranch for breakfast every friday and saturday. Since they closed we started looking for other places. And we hit the jackpot. Great portions and everything is fresh. Everyone is very polite. My son loves to get the All American? Pancakes, eggs, bacon, comes with peach slices and a choice of side. I love the corn beef hash plate and the country fried steak and egg plate of course with tomato slices!!!! Great food great prices!!!

Easy to love this place! Customers are treated like royalty! Best grits on the planet ... absolutely! Drop by for a true dining experience! You can observe people ordering for breakfast meals that you never thought of as breakfast! One recent morning I watched as customers ordered the shrimp and fried fish for breakfast. So many orders so many happy facesYou will see Police, city workers, many veterans and friends and neighbors. I do think there are several people that eat here every single day!

I can only say the staff and food gives your a southern comfort. Food is probably the best breakfast in Charlotte. I've never been disappointed. If you looking for a good, fresh breakfast for a awesome price stop at Sunflower you will be back.

Great food. I had the greek omelet. It was delicious. Everyone was very friendly and treated you like family.

I love everything about this place. The food is wonderful and large portions too. The fried flounder is one of many favorite items to eat. The servers are all wonderful. I love the Arnold Palmer tea it is the best.

A friend highly recommended Sunflower to me, so I decided to check them out and they did not disappoint! I had the All American breakfast and it was delicious and filling. Overall, my meal was so good!

This is the best place to eat on this side of town. Never hesitate to to stop in and have a great meal.

Been living near this place for 2 years and just tried it. Prices were great and the breakfast hit the spot!Biscuits and gravy, with eggs and bacon with a hardy serving size. Look forward to going back!

Over several times my wife was telling me about Sunflower.😎 Just like you like it. Food here is awesome 👍. My wife had jumbo shrimp with grits, I had the breakfast special. I'm sure I'll be going back.

Food was plentiful, tasty and served quickly. Our waitress, Kayla, was fast, friendly, efficient and our glasses never went below half full..

The food is pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best but it does the job. They have alot of the traditional breakfast items like grits, eggs, livermush, bacon etc. You can also order lunch also. They close at 2 PM sharp. You can't even order anything from the grill after 1:30. So plan accordingly. The only lunch item I've had previously is the chef Salad. It's pretty good also. They have a long menu so be prepared for that. I'll be back.

Me and my wife went and we had a good time I paid for two lady's food and let the waitress keep the tip from tat n wen me n the wife got done eating I paid and left the waitress $20

Great mom and pop diner. Locally owned. Unpretentious and great food and service. Breakfast and lunch only. Usually a working class crowd. The sign in the front is faded bit, it doesn't matter because the food is DELICIOUS!

Quaint, local establishment. Parking is limited in front but additional is available behind the building. Very clean inside with nice decor. Friendly customer service. Breakfast and lunch options. First time visiting. I Ordered the soup/salad combination. Food was delivered to the table in a reasonable amount of time, and presentation was good. Soup was flavorful and filling. Salad was just the right portion to accompany. All dressings are made in-house. My friend opted for the Farmers omelette with hash browns. The two items covered the entire plate. Overall, we were both satisfied with our meals. Would definitely return to try other fare.

So if you go do not go on a Saturday. The waitress changed my order and never explained it to me having me pay $15 for a $8 meal. Then when I asked about I was told by one lady she did not have time to explain it to me and she walked off. Then to top everything off our food was cold, everything from the grits to the French toast. I will never again give this place my money or recommend it. They have definitely fell off!!!

I was recommended to go to the Sunflower. Food was outstanding, portions were outrageously large, and the bill was small. Definitely going back regularly. It's like a soul food country kitchen.

Having just moved to this side of town, i was pleasantly suprised to find this local gem within walking distance of my new address. The wait staff(politically correct) were absolutely phenomenal. My waitresses name was Brittany. Extremely personable and outgoing, made you feel right at home. From the oversized coffee cups to the nicely sized portions, the Sunflower restaurant did not disappoint; the food was excellent. The wait staff worked together as a cohesive unit. If one was pouring refills, all were served. I believe that every individual member of the wait staff inquired after me at least once. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any meal(breakfast and lunch only-closes at 2:00pm).The friendliness, the courtesy with which you are treated and the customer service should be something that all restaurants aspire to. I adore this restaurant! They give marvelous food, they have a rich menu, The chief cook in that place is a professional, I love a lot tasting all their dishes. The food is always of high qualtity, the service towards the visitors is good. I visit often this place and I not even once was discontended. I recommend it to all.

Sunflower Restaurant is one of our favorite spots. We eat there almost every Saturday. They will be closed due to vacation from 6/28 - 7/7.

This place is ABSOLUTELY quaint and charming. Just good ole southern cooking and hospitality!!! The service was wonderful and the food was plentiful and tasted GREAT!! My family of 5 dined sufficiently and could not eat it all for about $45 dollars!!! Highly recommend this place
